Sardinian cuisine is very rich in traditions and you will find this as you dine out in the many restaurants Alghero has to offer. For example a popular local dish is culurgiones, cheese or potato filled ravioli in a tomato sauce and from the Catalan influence the “Aragosta alla catalana” local caught lobster served tepid with onions, tomato and rocket salad. Alghero is surrounded by some of the most important vineyards on the island and indeed not to be missed are local wines such as Cagnulari and Cannonau Riserva.
